You'll be trusted to make decisions, coordinate engineering resources, develop your team and ensure production runs as efficiently and safely as possible.\n\nThe Role\n\nYou'll be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the engineering function during your shift, acting as the link between Engineering, Production and Site Management.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\n* Leading, motivating and developing a team of Multi-Skilled Engineers.\n* Coordinating reactive maintenance, planned maintenance and engineering priorities across shift.\n* Scheduling engineering resources to maximise equipment availability and minimise downtime.\n* Making real-time decisions during breakdown situations to restore production safely and efficiently.\n* Supporting continuous improvement, reliability and root cause analysis activities.\n* Driving engineering standards, accountability and performance across the team.\n* Coaching and mentoring engineers to support their technical development.\n* Working closely with Production to balance operational priorities with engineering requirements.\n* Ensuring all engineering work is completed safely and in line with food safety and site procedures.\n* Producing accurate shift handovers, engineering reports and communicating effectively between shifts.\n\nEquipment You'll Support\n\nThe site operates a wide range of automated PLC controlled manufacturing equipment and you will ideally have experience working with the following:\n\nElectrical:\n\n* Three-phase systems.\n* Electrical fault finding.\n* Control panels.\n* Inverters and variable speed drives.\n* Relays, contactors and overload protection.\n* Sensors, photocells and safety circuits.\n* Reading electrical schematics.\n* PLC fault finding, ideally Siemens.\n\nMechanical\n\n* Bearings.\n* Chains and sprockets.\n* Gearboxes.\n* Conveyor systems.\n* Pneumatics.\n* Mechanical strip downs and rebuilds.\n* Fast-paced production machinery.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\nYou'll probably already be an Engineering Team Leader, Lead Engineer or an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer who naturally takes ownership, supports colleagues and wants to progress into a formal leadership role.\n\nPrevious experience planning workloads, coordinating engineering activity or supervising engineers would be highly advantageous.\n\nWhat's On Offer\n\n* circa £58k basic salary.\n* conti shift pattern offering excellent work-life balance.\n* Company pension.\n* Health Cash Plan.\n* Employee discount platform.\n* Ongoing technical and leadership development.\n* Genuine long-term career progression within a large and growing manufacturing group.\n\nIf you're looking for a role where you'll have genuine responsibility, influence engineering performance and play a key part in developing both people and plant reliability, I'd be keen to have a confidential chat.\n\nWhether you're already an Engineering Team Leader or a Senior Multi-Skilled Engineer with leadership experience ready to take the next step, I'd be keen to speak with you
